MATCH REPORT

TOWN DEFEATED AT FINEDON

Town lost their third F G Watts League fixture when they went down by 57- runs at last year's runners up, Finedon Dolben.

After Bryn Jones had opener Denton caught by Skipper Neville Pritchard, Brown (84), Cavill (50) and Coles (61) played in an aggressive manner to take Finedon Dolben on at six runs an over.

Town stuck to their task and managed to peg Dolben back in the latter stages of their innings with Steve Beck, 3 for 53, and Bryn Jones, 2 for 31, the pick of the bowlers.

Dolben posting 234 for 7 wickets in 40 overs.

In reply, Andy Thatcher (22) got Town off to a good start but wickets fell quickly to put the visitors on the back foot.

Vish Valambhia, who is showing signs of vast improvement, made a solid 49 runs before Beck (31) and Jones (22) tried to give Town some hope.

Town were finally dismissed for 177 in 35.1 overs, but not before the Skipper Pritchard hit one of the biggest sixes seen for a few years.

Finedon Dolben won by 57 runs.
