3rd XI win at Wallingford

Buckingham 3rd’s closed their league season with a superb 4 wicket win at Wallingford and after a poor start to the campaign finished third in the table a splendid effort with a young squad..

Wallingford inserted made a steady start with good bowling from Ben Thorne and Brijesh Valambhia and then Vish Valambhia continued his good season with 5-30 from 14 overs and the Oxon side closed on a respectable 161-6 on a difficult batting track.   Martin Foster took two superb catches in the slips.

Buckingham made a steady start but then a middle order collapse saw then 80-6 but a match winning innings of 48n.o. from Vish Valambhia saw Buckingham win by 4 wickets.   Opener Tim Archdeacon continued his good form of late with a gritty 57 n.o.
