TOWN OFF TO OPENING FG WATTS SUCCESS

Buckingham Town got off to a great start in the FG Watts League when they defeated reigning Champions Horton House on Sunday.

Australian Chris Dalkin's saw two wickets fall in his second over with the score on 37.

Opener Mark Wolstenholme held the innings together with a patient 104-ball half century while wickets fell at the other end - Dan Harris 2 for 32 and Dominic Pritchard 2 for 19 doing the damage.

Dalkin returned to finish with 3 for 14 from his eight over stint as Horton posted 146 for 9 from their 40 overs.

Matthew Thatcher (26) continued his good early season form and shared a partnership worth 69 runs with Dalkin, who reached his half century in just 40 balls. The pair both departed with the scoreboard showing  the century.

Dan Harris (18) chipped in before wickets fell quickly and it was left to the club chairman, Paul Board to lead the side home with an unbeaten 24 runs.

Town's four-wicket success was a good start against the current Champions.
