Hawridge & Cholesbury U15 vs Buckingham Town U15

Bucks League Semi Final

Jonny Cater writes:
Playing away from home Buckingham Town Under 15's met Hawridge & Cholesbury in the semi final of the Bucks League. Hawridge & Cholesbury batted first & accumulated 101-7 from their 20 overs. Buckingham bowled & fielded well, under 12's Luke Stafford & Callum Cater both equal to the challenge, Cater running out Hamblin who looked like he was in fine form. Top wicket taker was Ben Stafford 21-2 from 4 followed by Dishan Direkze 14-1 from 4, Chris Horsler 1-19 from 4 & Robin Pritchard 1-20 from 4. Danny Murray also threw in for a direct hitting run out.

In reply Jonny Cater & Ben Stafford looked confident against the pace before Stafford (6) was dismissed lbw. Chris Horsler arrived & made an instant impact, the pairing looking sound with some very positive running before Cater (20) was caught, falling victim to a slower ball. Robin Pritchard(2) and Dilshan Direkze(9) added to the total and Chris Horsler(35) was bowled going for the big one. Nick Wilkes (15 no) & James Sly(2 no) wrapped things up with 3 balls spare.

Buckingham Town U13 vs Milton Keynes City U14

Chris Wilkes writes:
Missing key players Town U13s lost their last Shires league phase match by 52 runs against MK City. The visitors made 161-5 despite accurate bowling by Alex Guntert (2-23 in 6 overs) and Jonny Neeves (1-18 in 5). For the first few overs of their reply Town matched the asking rate but then dropped too far behind, finishing respectably on 109-4 with steady partnerships between Olly Collins and Jack Thompson (22) and between Josh Goodey (35 not out) and Rob How.

Nonetheless, with six wins in nine matches it has been an excellent performance for a team of U13s, well supported by U12s, to reach the semi final of an U14 competition. Town will play at Old Northamptonians on Sunday 29 August then the final or plate play-off at Overstone Park on Sunday 12 September.
