Batting first, the U13s posted 193 for 9 in their 30 overs, the highlight being Toby O'Neill's maiden half century of 55, supported by 30 from Josh Goff, 32 from Dilshan Direkze and 21 from Stuart Powell. The wicket taking was shared by John Smith, Matt Warren, Andy Norman, James and Chris Coxhill supported by five catches and two run-outs including two dismissals by Matt Rowlingson and three by wicket-keeper Michael Younghusband. In reply the U14s were 91 all out, despite a fighting 22 not out by Norman. The U13 fielding was especially tight, including six catches which assisted the bowlers' figures -Nick Wilkes 3-13, Ben Austin 2-1, Alex Guntert 2-20, Jack Robbins 1-15 and Powell 1-17 - while Goff ran out danger man Smith for 14 with a direct hit. |
