Wolverton vs Buckingham Town U13 (Shires Under 14 League)

Harsh Jethra writes:
Buckingham under 13's put in a good effort to win a competitive shires league match at Wolverton by 17 runs. Town won the toss and decided to bat first. Openers Nick Wilkes (27) and Jamie Hirst (28) got a flying start with 67 runs in the first 7 overs. Then Josh Goff made a quick 11 to take the score to 88 for 3, before Harsh Jethra stabilised the innings first with Josh Goodey (9), then other partners. Jethra finished on 49 not out as Town posted 183 for 8 from their 25 overs. Wolverton got off to a good start with an opening partnership of 30 runs before leg spinner Goodey picked up the first wicket. He took the next two wickets as well, as the score moved on to 89 for 3. As the hosts were behind the run rate they went on to all out attack and lost further wickets to Jethra, Hirst and Dilshan Direkze, finishing on 166-7. Goodey took 4-32 from six overs, keeping to a good length despite the batsmen's assault. Jethra was man of the match and Direkze won the fielding award.
