Cublington v Buckinghamshire U15
Stuart Beck writes:
This Bucks under 15 league game was played at Cublington and due to fixture
congestion was a double points game.
Cublington batted first and made a brisk start 44 from their first
8 overs, with Buckingham bowlers unable to find line or
length. The introduction of Benjamin Stafford changed the game and
at one point he had taken 4 wickets for no runs. Ben finished his
spell with 4 overs 4 wickets for 13. Cublington rallied in the
final overs and set a target of 104.
In reply Buckingham also got away to a quick start with Jonathan
Cater and Krishan Talsania taking 24 off the first 3 overs before
Jonny was caught for 19. Both Benjamin Stafford and Robin
Pritchard lost their wickets with the score on 31. This brought
Sam Deal to the wicket with Krishan Talsania, who together
consolidated, before Sam set about the Cublington bowling and
scored 45 not out, 24 coming from one over. Krishan fell for 30 and
Buckingham won by 6 wickets.
Buckingham U15 are through to the semi-final of the Bucks Cup and the next game
is to be arranged at Ballinger CC (Chesham)
North Crawley vs Buckingham U13
Nick Wilkes writes:
Buckingham Town's U13s travelled to North Crawley for a crucial
Bucks U13 league match. Buckingham won the toss and elected to
bat. They got off to a steady start with openers Nick Wilkes and
Toby O'Neill making an unbeaten partnership of 39, before Wilkes
retired on 30 and O'Neill went for 24. Buckingham's middle order
continued the good work with Josh Goff (15) and Dilshan Direkze
(23) making valuable runs. Buckingham finished with a defendable
score of 110-6.
After the break Buckingham's bowlers got to work with an excellent
display, bowling the home side out for just 73. Josh Goff (3-17)
and Harsh Jethra (1-24) bowled very well but the Pick of the
bowlers was Man of the Match Josh Goodey who finished with a
fantastic display of 4 wickets for only one run.
The fielding was also tight with 2 run-outs from Wilkes and
excellent catches by Goff, Tom Jones and Direkze.
Buckingham looked the better team in all aspects of the game and
were deserving winners by 37 runs, with everyone chipping in. Well
done lads.
