Buckingham U13 vs Milton Keynes Park
Tom Jones writes:
Having won the toss Town elected to bat with Toby O'Neill and Tom
Jones opening. Jones was out early on and Jack Thompson came to
the crease. O'Neill batted with control and made an impressive
37. Thompson (12) and Ollie Collins (7) consolidated the innings
before Jack Deal made 15 quick runs, running well between the
wickets with Alex Guntert (7), to leave the home team with a score
of 97 for 6 off 25 overs.
This was always going to be a difficult total to defend
particularly as MK Park started very impressively making 60 runs
without loss after only 14 overs. A tight spell of bowling by
O'Neill and Jonny Neeves restricted the run rate and O'Neill was
rewarded with the breakthrough. Disciplined fielding, a hat-trick
from Deal and wickets to Neeves and Danny Hobden saw the visitors
batting falter and Town taking the win with Mk Park 83 all
out. Man of the match O'Neill finished with fine figures of 4
wickets for 5 runs from 6 overs.
