Buckingham Town 1st XI vs Old Northamptonians
Bob Hutt writes:
Buckingham Town Ist XI returned to winning ways in
their away match against O.N's with a six wicket victory.
O.N's struggled against Town's opening attack of Ryan Spragg
and Chris Board. Their good work was carried on by Dominic
Pritchard 3-17 from eight overs with Rob Large cleaning up the tail
with 3-16.
Dan Harris bowled six tidy overs for only 18 runs
as O.N's could only make 114-7.
Buckingham also fielded very well and took several fine
catches.
In reply Buckingham's openers Nick Board(36) and Henry Colver(36)
gave them a solid start as Chris Board 26n.o. saw Buckingham
home to a comfortable win.

Buckingham Town U14 v Great Houghton
Match report by Tom Jones
Buckingham U'13s put in a professional performance in their first Shires
League match of the season coming out comfortable winners at Great
Houghton. Put into bat on a firm pitch, Town lost Jamie Hirst early but
Josh Goff came to the crease and made an excellent 48. Meanwhile opener
Toby O'Neill had to retire on 24 due to dehydration. This meant that Jack
Thompson came in to bat and made an impressive 23 (his maiden runs for the
club). O'Neill returned but could add only 2 to his total and Jack Robbins
was unluckily lbw before Stuart Powell made a quick 16 not out to complete
the 25 overs, with Tom Jones 4 not out.
With 133 for 5 to defend on a slow outfield Town could afford to attack
and were rewarded in the first over when Goff took a key wicket thanks to
a tremendous catch at point by Oliver Collins (man of the match with two
catches and bowling figures of 3-8) and another in his second thanks to a
one handed overhead catch from Max Jarman at short extra cover. The other
opening bowler Alex Guntert also struck a good line and length and got his
reward with 2-2 in 3 overs, then Danny Hobden, Jarman and Powell each took
a wicket as the hosts collapsed to 29 all out. The attacking fields set by
the captain Goff worked well, with Powell and O'Neill also taking close
catches and Jones a stumping.
