Andy Bone writes:

After both openers fell in the space of eleven runs and the mantle was taken up by new batsmen James Gear and Jeetan Patel.

Another solid stand saw the pair add 128 runs for the third wicket and take Town with just seven runs of victory.

Gear made a 44-ball half century while his Kiwi partner reached the same score from a quickfire 31 balls.

It was left to Jonny Cater and Shiv Talsania to see Town home with six wickets remaining.

Earlier in the day the home side's top order all made runs before Chris Harris returned with a four-wicket blast that ripped out the middle order.
