Buckingham Town Cricket Club - April 23rd 2005
BTCC 1XI v Wolverton
Andy Bone writes:
An excellent early burst by Vish Valambhia and Chris Harris left
Wolverton reeling, particularly with James Tomlinson missing out
on a hattrick. However from 80-7, aggressive batting and poor
catching from Town allowed them to recover to 208. Despite an
impressive 46 from Rob Large, and useful contributions from most
batsmen, Town struggled to score at the required rate, and
finished 30 runs short. However there were some promising signs
for the coming season, in particular the opening burst from Vish
and Chris Harris, and the continuing good form of Rob Large.
Wolverton won the toss and elected to bat:

Great Horwood 2nd XI vs Buckingham Town 2nd XI
Andy Bone writes:
A magnificent debut 50 from Leigh Tomlinson, and 44 from the
returning Graham Judd dominated Buckingham’s innings, the pair
putting 91 on for the first wicket in Town II's local derby at
Great Horwood.
Further contributions of 33 from Russell Thompson, and twenties
from Ed Jones and Tom Murray saw Town through to 178 off their 40
overs.
Tight bowling from Town’s opening bowlers restricted Great
Horwood’s opening batsmen, but it was the return of Judd with the
ball and the introduction of Pritchard that saw Horwood loose
three wickets in three overs that swung the game firmly in Town’s
favour.
