A superb opening partnership between Buckingham Town's young guns
Dan Harris and Shiv Talsania helped their side to a nine-wicket
win at Bicester & North Oxford on Saturday.
The pair were given their chance to open and against Bicester &
North's experienced seamer Lee Mason - who helped his side win the
Cherwell League title last season - and they performed with great
aplomb.
The pair worked the ball around the ground as Harris reached a
fine half century.
After putting on 92 for the opening wicket, Talsania was adjudged
leg before attempting a sweep having reached 38 runs.
Rob Large entered proceedings with an aggressive knock, including
some hefty blows over the mid-wicket boundary.
Harris was asked to retire by Skipper James Gear after reaching a
fine 76 runs to give his team mates time in the middle.
It was left to Large and James Tomlinson to lead Town home to a
nine-wicket success in 35.1 overs with Large (28) finishing
undefeated.
Earlier in the day, Daryl Woods was the mainstay of the Bicester &
North innings as he anchored the innings and helped take his side
to 165 for 3 from 45 overs.
Vish Valambhia picked up two for 35 from his ten overs while Chris
Harris chipped in with the other wicket from a tidy spell. James
Tomlinson took two fine catches fielding close in.
