Buckingham Town vs Kingston Bagpuize
Andy Bone writes:
Rob Large and Sohail Nasir helped Buckingham Town romp to a
ten-wicket victory in their must-win clash against Kingston
Bagpuize last Saturday to set up a nail-biting last game.
Large and Nasir shared an opening stand of 200 runs as the pair
dominated against the Bagpuize attack.
Large scored his second century of this Cherwell League campaign,
a feat that was last achieved by a non-overseas player back in
1995 by Will Hearsey.
Large finished unbeaten on 114 not out, while Nasir played an
excellent supporting role as he finished undefeated on 66 not out
as they took their side to victory in just 31.5 overs.
Earlier in the day, Skipper James Gear won his first toss in six
games and decided to gamble as he invited Kingston Bagpuize to
bat.
Chris Harris bowled two excellent spells and was rewarded with
figures of three for 46 from his 15 overs. Gear's marathon 21-over
spell from the River End saw him finish with three for 89, while
Jason Ell's second spell saw him remove Baguize opener Martin
Shepherd (56) as he returned with two for 40.
Bagpuize posted 199 for 9 from their 50 overs.
