Old Northamptonians vs Buckingham Town

Buckingham Town lost their top of the table clash against Old Northamptonians in the F.G.Watts League but still look on course to reach the end of season play off.

Town, placed second at start of play, travelled to league leaders ONs and batted first with Steve Beck (51) and Shiv Talsania (57) sharing an opening stand worth 88 runs before James Tomlinson (33) returned to form with the bat.

The miserly Fagin returned to finish with four for 21, while Fourie claimed three for 18 as Town posted 166 for 7 from their 40 overs.

Vish Valambhia struck twice early on before an unbeaten third wicket stand of 109 between Newton (54 n/o) and Dixon (75 n/o) saw the home side to victory.

Buckingham Town 2nds lost their sunday friendly against Stewkley by 7 wickets.

Buckingham batted first and made a reasonable 209-7 with Andy Thatcher in fine form scoring 104.

Stewkley won with two overs remaining thanks to a hard hitting knock from skipper Martin Gregory who blasted 84 not out.
