Buckingham Town U15 vs Marston St. Lawrence U15 (South Northants League)
Chris Wilkes writes:
Buckingham Town suffered their third consecutive defeat in the
South Northants U15 league, going down at home to Marston St
Lawrence.
The visitors belied their lowly league placing with an excellent
bowling performance, spearheaded by A Dennison who got real lift
in his spell of 1-13 in 5 overs. Town batted reasonably well to
reach 113 for 4. Josh Goff put in another disciplined performance,
playing safely with a straight bat and accelerating to 50 retired,
and Tom Jones batted well for his 25.
Town's bowlers then had an off day, tending to bowl too short and
conceding 18 no-balls and 11 wides as the visitors cantered home
by 8 wickets with 5 overs to spare. M Riddle top-scored with 40,
including 2 sixes and 4 fours. Harsh Jethra showed the most
control, going for only 21 in 5 overs. The fielding was mostly
good; James Coxhill combined with Jethra for a smart run-out,
while Danny Hobden caught a well-judged skier off Toby O'Neill.
