Buckingham Town vs MK Park
Andy Bone writes:
Buckingham Town lost to Milton Keynes Park by 133 runs on a hot
afternoon at Bourton Road.
Town started brightly as Matt Arnull (1 for 56) and Chris Harris
(3 for 71) pegged MK Park back to 31 for 3 after 15 overs before
Jamie Wade and MK Park Skipper Graham Simpson shared a stand of
183.
In a mirror image of the game twelve months earlier where Town
were struggling badly before a large partnership batted the
opposition out of the game. This year it was MK Park who turned
the game in an incredible twenty over spell.
Wade batted through with an unbeaten 110, while Simpson was
castled by Harris for 90 as the pair helped add 193 runs for the
final twenty overs.
MK Park posted 280 for 4 from their 50 overs.
In the first over Mohammed had stand-in skipper Bryn Jones caught
superbly at slip by Russ Sissing and after that it was only Rob
Large who showed any resistance against the visitors attack.
Large batted well and reached a fine half century as wickets
continued to fall as Town past the century mark.
After making a superb 69 runs, Large was caught by Wade off of
Simpson as Town were finally dismissed for just 147.
Mohammed finished with three for 42 while James Sprittles returned
with three for 11.
