Buckingham Town U13 vs Westbury U13
Karen Cater writes:
Buckingham Town u13's came out worthy winners in their Bucks
league meeting with Westbury.
Winning the toss Buckingham put
Westbury into bat & made an instant impact when Jack Deal's
bowling & Rob Laird's fine catch dismissed the opener. Further
wickets fell to Tom Hill, Steve Brunning, Callum Cater & Adam
Bone(2) along with 2 smart run outs. Fielding as a tight unit
Buckingham's Josh Mallett, Cater & Deal followed Laird's lead in
holding onto their catching opportunities. Westbury finished on 71
for the loss of 9 wickets.
In reply Buckingham got off to a
flying start, Callum Cater finding the boundary from the opening
bowl but he was then adjudged out lbw before he could add to his
score. At the other end Deal steadied the ship playing a mature,
sensible innings. Bone hit a 6 from his third ball before falling
victim to his own positive play. Hill (13 no) came in & along with
Deal (30 retired) never looked troubled & Town passed their target
after just 11 overs.
