Buckingham Town Cricket Club - April 30th 2006

Bucks U17 saw Town player Jonny Cater (64) help his county side get off to a flyer. His opening partner looked in outstanding form as he stroked a fine century before Jason Ell's ten overs bagged him four for 51. James Tomlinson supported Town's comeback with three for 43 from seven overs as the county were dismissed for 307 all out. Large accepted four catches in the field.

Leigh Tomlinson and Matthew Thatcher shared an excellent opening stand as they gave Town a steady start. Tomlinson was out four runs short of a deserved century while Thatcher fell one run short of a half century.

Dan Harris and James Tomlinson chipped in with 31 runs apiece, while Large (28) helped his Town side look to accelerate. Another Town player, Ben Stafford, bowled ten overs for the county side for 52 runs.

In the end Town fell short on 273 for 6 but the newly laid square played very well for it's opening game so early in the season.

Buckingham with 10 men did well against a Southam XI who had some 1st XI players. Buckingham were going well batting first but collapsed to 194-9. Vish Valambhia(42) and Matt Flower(46) batted well being supported by K. DeSilva(27) and Shiv Talsania(22).

Southam "A" lost five wickets winning with three balls left in the final over. V.Valambhia,Chris Horsler, and Shiv Talsania all bowled well for Town.
