Buckingham Town vs Challow & Childrey
Andy Bone writes:
Buckingham Town's Oxford Times Cherwell League Division One game
at home to Challow & Childrey last saturday was brought to an
early conclusion when heavy rain caused play to be stopped after
37.2 overs.
Town were 152 for 5, thanks to a recovery led by Dan Harris and
Jonny Cater, as they struggled early on after again losing the
toss.
Dimblylow took three early wickets before Dan Harris hit his
second consecutive half century as, along with Cater (49), the
pair took Town away from a potential collapse.
Despite attempts to get back on the pitch after a heavy shower
caused an early tea to be taken, more rain saw Town and Challow &
Childrey each awarded ten points as the pitch was unfit.
On sunday, Town went out of the Bucks Cup after going down to Home
Counties Premier League side Burnham by nine wickets.
Town crashed to 82 all out with only Leigh Tomlinson (26) and Vish
Valambhia (20) getting any runs. Burnham reached the next round
after losing just one wicket in making their target.
This weekend Town travel to play Banbury II, while their second
string play host to Princes Risborough. Morris Motors Exiles 2
visit Town II's at Stowe School.
