Buckingham Town Cricket Club - August 6th 2006

Town bagged the crown after romping to a 121 run win at Overstone Park after posting a massive 322 for 5 in their 40 overs.

Captain Jonny Cater opened up with a 34-ball 44 runs, while the in-form Leigh Tomlinson made a solid 51.

James Tomlinson batted superbly as he top scored with 87 in 78 balls before Jimad Khan hit a whirlwind 69 as he faced just 38 balls, including six sixes.

Dominic Pritchard finished unbeaten on 32.

In reply, Overstone Park reached 201 for 8 with Vish Valambhia, Lawrence D'Silva and the surprise bowling appearance of Cater all bagging two wickets apiece.

Town's semi final is still to be arranged, although they do travel to play at Burnham on sunday in the second round of the Bucks Cup.

Stewkley put into bat scored a respectable 176-8.

Buckingham youthful attack of Callum Cater, Tom Hill, Luke Stafford(3-26) and Adam Bone all bowled very well and a good ctach by Adrian Johnson dismissed the dangerous J. Wright cheaply. Russell Thompson took a superb catch to dismiss the hard hitting T. Grace(50).

Buckingham comfortably reached their target losing just three wickets thanks to Russ Thompson 82n.o. and Matt Flower (51) who both were in good form and hit the ball hard.
