Buckingham Town vs Wolverton

Andy Bone writes:
Town were awarded a walkover against Wolverton on sunday after the visitors were unable to raise a side. The result appears that Town could finish top of the F.G.Watts League going into the play-offs.

Buckingham Town U15 vs Harrold

Chris Wilkes writes:
County cup winners Buckingham Town won their first round match in the National U15 Club Championship by 56 runs against Bedfordshire champions Harrold CC at Bourton Rd.

A good crowd of supporters from both clubs saw Town's batsmen on good form. After Josh Goff went in the first over to one that swung in and stayed low, Nick Wilkes (53 retired) and Jamie Hirst (26) took the score to 59 in the tenth over with well placed boundaries and smartly taken singles before Hirst was deceived by a leg break. But with a strong line-up to come Town were by then well set for a big total. Dilshan Direkze (11), Tom Jones (11), Jack Deal (20) and Adam Bone (7*) all mixed quick running with big hits as the run rate accelerated to 148 for 6.

Harsh Jethra (1-8 from 4 overs) took an early wicket but the visitors reply was going a little too well at 48-1 from 8 overs until Bone (2-14 from 4) and Wilkes (3-3 from 3) stifled the scoring then removed the rest of the top order. Josh Goodey (2-12) then cleaned up the tail and with a couple of runouts Harrold were 92 all out.

Town play the second round on Sunday 23 July away to Harrow St Mary, the Middlesex champions, for a place in the South East regional finals.
