MK City U16 vs Buckingham Town U16

2)	Matt Faulkner
3)	Dan Hassell
4)	Mike Heath
5)	Jamie Hirst
6)	Harsh Jethra

10)	Josh Whitehead
(10 men)
Town approached their final Hair Moda League match knowing that nothing less than a win would do. Having defeated Wolverton twice, and North Crawley and Stony Stratford in past matches, a win for Town would guarantee the coveted league title.

Looking to follow in the footsteps of past U16s teams by winning the league and reaching the Nationals, Town were invited to field on a hot evening. They soon made good use of the dreadful pitch, with Hirst making the early breakthrough. Wickets tumbled with Direkze bowling a double wicket maiden. Harsh Jethra again bowled superbly, keeping it tight at one end. Faulkner again bowled his varying pace, using his height to great advantage by getting a lot of bounce. U13 Dan Hassell bowled well, whilst latecomer Tom Jones was unable to contain the batsman.

Debutant Josh Whitehead, playing 4 years above himself, came on, and was unlucky not to pick up a wicket. Hirst and Jethra then picked up late wickets and restricted MK City to 80-7 off of 20 overs.

Town looked like the total would be achieved in 5 overs, however the uncontrollable pitch soon had the Town top order in the pavilion. Jones was unlucky to be run out by Direkze, who soon departed after the ball shot along the deck. At 14-3, Town were reeling and looked in real trouble, however Jamie Hirst smashed his way out of trouble, aided superbly by Jethra. Hirst finished with figures of 3-15 and also made 42 not out.

Captain Andy Norman paid tributes to Rob Pritchard, Matt Faulkner & Oshy Ryan-Pont for commitment and high quality performances throughout the season.

This win confirms Buckingham Town U16s as League Champions, and tops off a fantastic season for the side. Buckingham will now play in the National competition.
