Buckingham Town U16 vs MK Park
Andy Norman writes:
If you were not present at Bourton Road on Thursday then you
missed an absolute festival of fabulous shots from Town Under 16s
against MK Park.
Buckingham piled on a HUGE 213 runs for the loss of only 5 wickets
from an action-packed 20 overs to put this league match completely
out of sight.
Rob Pritchard opened the batting solidly, making his third 50 in 4
games this season. He used his usual effective style, making a
quick fire 54 with, as always a fine selection of hit hitting
mixed with singles.
However, Town's main star of the evening was Krishan Talsania who
used sheer power to thunder himself to a massive 110 not out! He
achieved this, batting at number three, and the knock was great
viewing for all. Truly attacking batting mixed with sensible
defensive (not much!) when it was needed helped him keep his
wicket and score freely for 19 overs at the crease. Spectators
were simply lost for words.
Andy Norman made 11 not out, supporting Talsania in a fine last
over in which 22 runs were scored.
Town then stuck to the task in the field to gain maximum bowling
points by bowling Park all out comfortably. The pick of the
bowlers was Andy Norman, again collecting tidy figures of 4-13 off
4 overs. All the other bowlers: Chris Coxhill, Matt Coxhill,
Krishan Talsania, Matt Faulkner and Simon Taylor, also bowled
well.
A noticeable improved fielding performance was also implied by
Town with Oshy Ryan-Pont taking a superb one handed catch (as he
always seems to!)
Town finished up with 10 points for their victory and the full 10
Bonus Points (5 batting and 5 bowling), capping a perfect evening
for the lads.
Shot Of The Night: Krishan Talsania - His only six on the ball
after his ton, standing sideways ready to hit it before the bowler
had released the ball!
Next up for Town U16's is another home fixture against MK City,
again in the Hair Moda League, 6.15pm start, Thursday 8th June.
