Buckingham Town vs Old Northamptonians
Andy Bone writes:
Town fielded a young side which performed with aplomb
as they defeated Old Northamptonians by 40 runs at Bourton Road.
Jimad Khan (34) and Graham Judd (26) gave Town a good start before
Rob Pritchard (19) and Dom Pritchard (17) chipped in with middle
order runs. Ben Stafford's late flurry of an unbeaten 18 helped
Town posted 182 all out.
The visitors responded well but Lawrence DeSilva, two for 31,
bowled well before former Town player John Mann stroked the ball
around the ground. Richard Pengelly, three for 66, had Mann (38)
caught on the boundary by Stafford, which lifted Town.
Old Northamptonians tail had no answer to the spin of Stafford,
four for 11 in 3.2 overs and Dom Pritchard, one for 2, as they
lost their last five wickets for just 21 runs as they were
dismissed for 142.
Town's young side has a bright future as they have now won all
four of their opening F.G.Watts Sunday League games played. One
having been rained off.
