Opening batsmen Josh Goff (53) and Nick Wilkes (54) played some fine shots in a century stand before retiring. Dilshan Direkze (12), Harsh Jethra (33 not out) and Rob Laird 18 not out) kept the run rate going at ten an over as the innings closed on 203 for one after 20 overs. Towcester then batted with spirit to reach 101 for 8, K Lloyd top scoring with 32. Jonny Neeves (2-7), Tom Hill (2-15) and Stuart Powell (2-4) each bowled four accurate overs, well supported by two catches form Jethra, a stumping from Goff and a Neeves/Direkze run-out. |
