Buckingham Town U15 vs Syresham U15 (South Northants League)
Chris Wilkes writes:
Buckingham Town completed the league phase of the South Northants
U15 League with an 84 run win against Syresham, in a game at
Preston Bissett reduced to 16 overs a side because of a rain
delayed start.
Town's captain Tom Jones celebrated his Bucks county call-up with
a well controlled 50 before retiring. Rob How played a good
supporting role with 20 before Josh Goodey came in to knock 19 not
out in the final three overs, as the innings closed on 121 for 2.
Syresham's inexperience showed as they failed to cope with the
accuracy of off-spinners Toby O'Neill (2-13) and Goodey (2-12) or
seamer Max Jarman (3-10), who returned from injury with extra pace
and movement. The wicket taking was completed by three run-outs -
involving Arqam Akhtar (twice) and Goodey throwing in to
occasional keeper Dilshan Direkze (twice) and How - to get the
visitors all out for 37.
