Buckingham Town U15 vs Tring Park (Bucks Cup)
Nick Wilkes writes:
Buckingham Town U15’s confirmed their place in the semi-final of
the Bucks Cup with a comprehensive victory against Tring Park, who
had won their previous 7 matches in league and cup this season.
Buckingham won the toss and elected to field first. Town tied down
the openers with accurate bowling from Harsh Jethra (0-11) and
Jonny Neeves (0-6). As Tring tried to push the score along, their
running became more reckless and both the openers were removed by
excellent run outs from Stuart Powell and Rob How. Tring
accelerated somewhat to 50-4 after 13 overs but couldn't maintain
progress due to excellent bowling from Jack Deal (2-23) and Toby
O’Neill (2-15). Stuart Powell (4-2) then bowled 2 devastating
overs to finish off the tail and leave Tring with a very modest
score of 57 all out in the 17th over.
Town’s openers, Nick Wilkes (29 not out) and Josh Goff (19 not
out), both played watchful innings spiced with some cracking
boundaries to wrap up the game within 12 overs and complete a well
executed 10 wicket win. In the semi-final they will face Marlow
Park or Winchmore Hill.
