Krishan Talsania returned to join season star performers Rob Pritchard, Andy Norman and Chris Coxhill in excellent style as Town U16s comfortably beat Long Marston U17s by 23 runs.

Rob Pritchard, as usual, got the innings off to a flyer after Town won the toss and decided to bat. He was eventually run out for a fine knock of 51 (his second 50 in three 20 over matches), displaying a fine selection of shots to the boundary as well as taking many vital singles. Unfortunately for buoyant Town, promoted opener Oshy Ryan-Pont could not live up to Pritchard's performance after being bowled after facing a respectable 3 deliveries.

Other contributors were Talsania, who was caught on 22 after some rapid boundaries and Norman, playing the holding role, also making 22, somehow ending up not out! Mike Heath also looked in good touch with his first innings of the season to help Town to 126-4 off their 20 overs.

Then, Talsania showed great pace and accuracy, opening the bowling with 4 overs for 12, picking up a wicket in the process.

The other wickets were taken by John Smith (making some legendary comments throughout the game as always) and Matt Coxhill (unlucky not to end up with more with the field failing to make all the chances pay). Town were far from definite victors as Long Marston raced to 80 off 11 overs. However, even though Town's other bowlers failed to show Talsania's fine economy rate, in the 14th??? over that all changed.

Long Marston's tail was mopped up quickly by Andy Norman and Chris Coxhill. Norman bowled a double wicket maiden and Coxhill bowled 7 balls and collecting 3 wickets! Pritchard was in great form behind the stumps with 1 run out, superbly aided by Ryan-Pont a stumping and 2 catches. Opener Matt Hubble made 58 for the visitors and Long Marston were bowled out for 103 in the 16th over

Shot Of The Night: Rob Pritchard - One of his textbook pull shots.

Next up for Town U16's is another home fixture, this time in the league, 6.15pm start, Thursday 1st June.
