Buckingham Town Cricket Club - August 26th 2007

Town batted first and after losing an early wicket made a solid start through Ian Wilkinson(46) in good form returning after a three week absence.

Young Robin Pritchard also batted very well for his 39.

Towcesterians then came into the match as Town reached 125-4 with nine overs left.

Skipper Hutt increased the tempo with a brisk 34n.o.( two 6's) and useful runs from Josh Whitehead(15) and Matt Dipple saw Town to a respectable 185-7 from their 40 overs. In reply Towcesterians lost an early wicket and then Skipper Ben Laycock (88) set about the Town attack and whilst at the crease Town looked likely to lose.

A superb catch behind the stumps by keeper Robin Pritchard saw Laycock dismissed and then Town took over.

Luke Stafford had a fine spell taking 4-25 from his eight overs.

Rob Laird 3-35 was in good form and after an expensive first over Rob Davis did well with 0-28 from his six overs. Callum Cater and Steve Brunning also had tidy spells as Town won in a close finish.

Ian Wilkinson took an excellent catch on the boundary for Town.
