Buckingham Town Cricket Club - July 15th 2007Old Albanians 1st XI vs Buckingham Town 1st XINeville Pritchard writes:Winning the toss and batting on a very good wicket Town recovered from the early loss of Tomlinson with a partnership of 56 between Mike Taylor (77) and Robin Pritchard (25) which created a solid base for Jimad Khan (90 from 56 balls) to accelerate the innings & with Taylor and add 139 before Dominic Pritchard continued the pace & added 19 in the last couple of overs. Old Albanians never recovered from Tom Hills outstanding first over removing two of their key batsmen before a run was scored. He went on to complete two good spells of tight bowling to finish with 2-22 from his eight overs. All bowled well as OAs fell 82 short with other wickets going to James Tomlinson (2), Paul Hill (2), Jimad Khan and Josh Whitehead picking up one each.

Skipper Hutt won the toss and batted and a steady start was made by A. Freeman(23) and D. Direkze(24) and then four wickets fell cheaply. Town recovered tahnks to good batting from A. Peshavaria(61no) and Callum Cater(37no) to reach a useful 177-4 from 40 overs. In reply Old Albanians scored a few and lost a few wickets and whilst Goodion(56) was batting the match looked likely to swing their way. Town however in a close finish dismissed them for 160. Anant Peshavaria completed a fine all round day taking 4-18 and Dilshan Direkze took 4-34. The other two wickets fell to Callum Cater and the economical Rod Bridgman who had one apiece. Junior Cricket Morning at Old AlbaniansNeville Pritchardwrites:Buckingham Town took 67 juniors from under 7 to under 10 plus under 13, 12 and 11 year olds from the newly formed girls squad to Old Albanians on Sunday. Playing nine games in a wonderfully well organised and enjoyable environment the teams won six of them, playing well and demonstrating good skills in every game. In the afternoon both the 1st and 2nd elevens played their counterparts at Old Albanians with twenty of the coaches and coaching assistants from the morning games remaining to play with a number of the children staying for some of the time to see just how their coaches play! They were impressed as both senior teams won their 40 over games. |
