Erratics vs Buckingham Town
Bob Hutt writes:
Buckingham Town's midweek side, with only 9 players, travelled to
Oxford to play Erratics and a great game of cricket resulted.
Skipper Hutt won the toss and elected to bat.
Openers Kevin D'Silva(15) and Tom Jones(27) gave them a solid
start and Adrian Johnson(24) continued the good work. The star
performance then came from Town's overseas Kiwi, Jimad Khan who
was in sparkling form with the bat. Coming in during the 11th over
he hit an amazing 181 n.o. including 12 massive sixes.
Jimad also achieved the very rare feat of hitting six sixes in one
over thus scored a maximum 36 from the over. A fantastic effort
from Jimad very rarely seen in any cricket match and he was savage
with the bat on the Erratics bowling.
Town closed on an impressive 283-5 from their 40 overs. On a
quick outfield Erratics started well and were in front of the
required run rate but from a winning position they were slowed
down by excellent bowling from Jimad Khan and Lawrence D'Silva and
eventually closed on 282-8 giving Buckingham victory by just 1
run. Dilshan Direkze and Jimad Khan both grabbed three wickets
apiece.
A superb day's cricket.
