Bicester & North Oxford vs Buckingham Town
Andrew Holland writes:
Town stay top!
With so much rain around it was a welcome sight to see a full game
of cricket played on Saturday. Rob Large won the toss, and
continued Buckingham's aggressive tactics of bowling first. In
good bowling conditions Jason Ell wreaked havoc as he knocked the
Bicester top 3 over with only 20 on the board. Ex-Buckingham
player Shiv Talsania was brilliantly caught by Dan Harris, before
Sansome and Watkins went for single figures. Graham Savin and
Doddapaneni began to rebuild, but scoring was slow and in the end
Greg Pearson bowled Doddapaneni for 23. Krishan Talsania came to
the wicket, but although Buckingham failed to find another
breakthrough, after 30 overs the score was only 72-4. As batsmen
got in however, scoring became easier, and a tired Pearson
(approaching 20 overs on the trot), was attacked. Savin finally
brought up his 50 from 101 balls, before a stupid second run saw
him get run out. Talsania then got caught on the boundary for
41. Darryl Woods and Steve West continued the attack though as the
hosts approached an unlikely 200. 4 wickets fell in the last 2
overs though to leave Bicester 198 all out.
The Buckingham reply got off to a slow start as they experienced
the same early problems with the conditions. Rob Large tried to go
on the attack, but hit one straight up in the air and was caught
for 18. After that, Buckingham took control as Leigh Tomlinson and
Dan Harris found scoring easy. They added a quick 50 before both
falling in consecutive overs, each caught at point. Jimad Khan
took over though, and scored at a run a ball. Jonny Cater, having
recovered from a knee injury, joined him and finally found some
form as he batted calmly and helped Khan move the score on. Khans
fifty took just 52 balls and although he chipped a ball straight
back to the bowler soon after, followed by a duck for James
Tomlinson, Buckingham were always in control, with Cater reaching
50 before the team reached the winning score.

Dom Pritchard took 3-38 sending three middle order batsmen back to
the pavilion. Buckingham in reply lost two cheap wickets before

well. Russell Thompson batted very well showing a welcome return

Bicester & North Oxford 3rd XI vs Buckingham Town 3rd XI
Bob Hutt writes:
Buckingham Town 3rds drew their match against their counterparts
from Bicester & North Oxford.
Skipper Wilkinson won the toss and batted and Town scored a
respectable 192-6. Opener Nigel Norman with 83 not out batted
well to give the innings a backbone and useful runs came from
Callum Cater(25), Tom Hill(20) and Ian Wilkinson(18) who was
unlucky to be run out.
On reaching 100 for the loss of two wicket Bicester were going
well but they could only close on 170-6. Callum Cater did well
with 2-15 from his 8 overs.
Opening bowlers Chris Colbourn and Steve Brunning bowled tidy
spells.
Andy Norman bowled well and Robert Davis took his first senior
wicket for the Town.
