It turned out that players had dropped out of the Brixworth team, and in the end they managed 10 players. Leigh Tomlinson and Graham Judd opened the innings, and soon the ball was flying around the ground. Then a ridiculous run out removed Tomlinson for 22, with the score 34-1 after 4 overs. Jonny Cater went to the wicket and runs continued to come. Cater and Judd both scored at just under a run-a-ball but perished just after they reached the 30s. James Tomlinson could only make 9, but at that stage the score was 159-4 after just 20 overs. Jimad Khan and Robin Pritchard were batting together, still Brixworth couldn't control the run rate. Khan raced past 50 and brought up his 100 from 68 balls. He hit 22 fours and 3 sixes in a fantastic innings before being caught at cover for 142 (74 balls). Pritchard kept the runs coming as he scored his 50 from 47 balls, and in the end Buckingham finished 354-6 in 40 overs.Brixworth were never in the game, and settled for some batting practice. The openers put on 50 before Dilshan Direkze ran out Higgs for 13. Direkze then came on to bowl, and bowled the other open, Shulver for 30 and Lacey first ball. Captain Jonny Cater used 8 bowlers during the innings, and so there were plenty of runs available. Youngster Cowley hit 17 before Judd took his wicket, and captain T. Chapman made 28. The score was 171-4 before the innings collapsed, with 5 wickets falling for 26, Hammond the only man to show resistance with 46. James Tomlinson was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 23.
