Buckingham Town vs Stony Stratford

Buckingham Town 1sts lost their Sunday F.G. Watts Challenge League match against Stony Stratford.

Buckingham batted first and scored 239-3 from their 40 overs. After losing two early wickets skipper Jonny Cater was in fine form with 127 not out and Darren Harland chipped in with 56 not out.

S. Myatt 105 and P. Mitchell 57 not out saw Stony to victory with a couple of overs remaining.

Stony Stratford 2nd XI vs Buckingham Town 2nd XI

Buckingham Town 2nds drew their Sunday friendly against Stony Stratford 2nds.

Buckingham batted first and scored a useful 204-6 from their 40 overs despite losing their opening batsmen straightaway to M. Chaplin.

Russell Thompson was in good form with a fine 86 not out. Mark Parrott(36), Callum Cater(21) and Bob Hutt 12 not out supported.

M. Chaplin took 2-18 for Stony from 10 overs and young 12 year old Josh Whitehead took his first two wickets in senior cricket.

In reply Stony never threatened the Buckingham total as they closed on 126-7 in an enjoyable match played with good spirit. Kevin Orchard(34) top scored for Stony.

A brilliant run out by Russell Thompson removed Newman (11).

For Buckingham James Underwood made his debut and the -15's player took a wicket with his leg spin.
