Buckingham Town 2nd XI vs Stewkley
Bob Hutt writes:
Buckingham Town 2nds beat Stewkley in their Sunday friendly in an
excellent match with victory coming in the last over of the
game. Stewkley played with nine men due to transport problems
which didn't help their cause.
Stewkley won the toss and batted and made a fine start after
losing a quick wicket. Skipper Tom Beasley was in good form with
106 not out well supported by M. Aldis 52. With runs coming
quickly Town brought on Robin Pritchard 2-22 who slowed the run
rate down and Stewkley closed on 208-5 from their 40 overs. Harry
Martin 1-53 and Rob Laird 1-39 bowled well and tidy spells came
from Tim Wigan,Luke Stafford and Lawrence D'Silva.
Town made a good start through openers Lawrence D'Silva(48) and
Callum Cater(28) and then a mini collapse took place in poor light
and steady drizzle which eventually cleared. Town's hero was Robin
Pritchard who scored a match winning 59 not out. Stewkley's cause
wasn't helped with only nine fielders and a wet ball. However it
was an excellent match.
