Old Albanians vs Buckingham Town

Neville Pritchard writes:
Old Albanians batted first and made a solid 173 with Bernard batting well for 73. All Buckingham bowlers did well - Dominic Pritchard taking 3 for 9 from 5 being the pick of them. Steve Brunning bowled 6 very tight overs for 10 runs, and Chris Coates (2-29), Matt Dipple (2-26), Chris Wigan (1-21) and Callum Cater being the other wicket takers. Batting second Mike Taylor and Chris Coates put on 57 before Coates went for 29 in the 13th over. The solid start was continued by Mike Taylor(55) and Robin Pritchard (23) before both went in quick succession at 123 - Town needing just 51 with 12 overs remaining - the batting then collapsed and they fell 25 runs short with two overs still remaining. The game was played in an excellent spirit and followed a morning when over 80 under 10s from Buckingham played their counterparts at the OAs in 8 different groups. Honours were even on the day across the groups and all enjoyed a tremendous morning of cricket.

Buckingham Town Lost by 25 runs

Buckingham Town 2nd XI vs Old Albanians

Neville Pritchard writes:
The Sunday 2nd X1 comprising a number of father-son and family combinations played an OA team supplemented by five from Buckingham. Buckingham won by 43 runs in a genuine Sunday friendly. Town made 163 all out with Adrian Freeman making 84, Rod Bridgeman 25 and James Underwood a very promising 23. Bowling against them Buckingham Under 10 Jordan Helps took 3 for 4 in 4 overs and Lottie Scarr took 2-12. Lottie took two outstanding catches including a phenomenal caught and bowled to remove Freeman. Town then restricted the OA/BTCC team to 120, with Jordan Helps and Harry Scarr putting on 20 for the final wicket. Joe Payne, Harry Martin, Rod Bridgeman, Josh Whitehead, Jake Mallett, Alistair Martin and Joe Taylor sharing the wickets. The day was the third annual visit and once again was a tremendous success. Thanks from the club to Adrian Johnson for organising the morning, all of the coaches and assistants, players and parents for making the day so enjoyable. Old Albanians deserve mention and thanks for being excellent hosts and we look forward to the 4th year next season.
