Buckingham Wizards vs Overstone Rockets

Young Wizards bring Rockets down to earth
The BTCC Wizards entertained the Overstone Rockets in their latest
U10's Shire's League fixture hoping to make it nine games
unbeaten. Overstone won the toss and asked Buckingham to bat, Ryan
Marsden (Capt) and Solomen Janecki provided the Wizards with a
great start, Janecki scoring 12 and Marsden back to top form with
an excellent 22, a credit to his hard work in the nets. Vikram
Pandit and Alistair Martin were both in good form playing some
lovely cricket strokes. Oliver Plummer-Clark still only nine years
old batted excellently with 11 not out. The highlight for the
Wizards was the batting of eight year old trio Joe West, Alfie
Robey and Albert Johnson all adding useful runs and not losing any
wickets, Buckingham posting an impressive 115.
In reply Overstone found it hard going with Janecki taking an
early wicket while Plummer-Clark kept things as tight as
normal. Pandit and Martin swapped roles with Pandit keeping wicket
and Martin bowling, both performed excellently, Martin also taking
1 wicket and 2 outfield catches. The three eight year olds showed
their class as bowlers as well as batsmen, A.Robey 2 wickets, West
2 wickets and Johnson 1 wicket for a total of 15 runs. All three
have to share 'man of the match' with the Wizards finishing
comfortable winners.
