Buckingham Town vs Overstone
Bob Hutt writes:
Sunday 22nd June - Sunday League Challenge
Town's 1st XI
Sunday home match was called off as Overstone Park were unable
to raise a side for various reasons. The game may be re-scheduled
but Town's fixture list for Sundays is virtually full up at the
moment.
Stoke Hammond vs Buckingham Town 2nd XI
Bob Hutt writes:
Buckingham Town 2nd's had a 37 run win away at Stoke Hammond in
their sunday friendly.
Skipper Hutt elected to bat and openers Robin Pritchard(33) and
Chris Coates(34) batted well giving Town a brisk start and their
good work was carried on by Callum Cater(43) in good form with the
bat.
A big score looked likely but Town collapsed to a modest 148 all
out and two run outs didn't help matters. Malcolm Wakelin 3-34
bowled well for Stoke, likewise Joe D'Agostino 2-4 and Bob
Kempster 1-25. C. Page picked up 2-29 and Mark Flack bowled
tidily.
Stoke made a good start with Mark Parrott(31) and Thomas Tooth(19)
looking comfortable and with Madjid(14) and Manda(17) scoring
useful runs Town were struggling.
Like Town Stoke collapsed to 111 all out.
For Buckingham Rob Laird was in fine form with the ball(2-14).
Good support came from Steve Brunning and Joe Payne(1-15).
Robin Pritchard did a good job(2-16) as Callum Cater and Tom Hill
grabbed a couple of wickets apiece and Darren Harland one as Town
won an enjoyable match.
