BTCC Under 15's vs Stony Stratford

Buckingham Towns Under 15's made a winning start to the 2008
season
Buckingham fought hard to score runs early on. Matt Iceton and Sam
Oxley maintained a steady scoring rate after Stonys Walsh had
struck in the second over of the day.
Three wickets then fell in quick successes leaving Buckingham on
45 for 4.
The innings was put back on course by a fine 50 run partnerships
between dogged James Underwood (16) and the free scoring Alex
Libby (49).
Buckingham ended there 20 overs on a respectable 115 for 7.
Stony started there reply steadily against some tight bowling from
King (1 - 17) Dearlove (2-11) and Hassall. Both Stony openers West
(34) and Hallibowe (28) scoring steadily. With the score on 58
West had to leave the field due to illness and this proved to be
the pivotal point of the game.
James Underwood (1-23) quickly took Buckingham's first wicked and
Pollard (18) started scoring freely for Stony.
With 3 overs to go Stony looked in control needing 18 runs with 9
wickets in hand.
The stubborn Hallibowe was removed when he was stumped by Libby
off of the bowling of Dearlove, shortly after this Stony lost
another wicket when Orchard was run out for 4.
West returned to the crease only to be smartly caught by Oxley
from a firmly hit drive.
King removed Pollard in the penultimate over leaving Stony
requiring 5 runs from 6 balls with5 wickets remaining.
Dearlove held his nerve and Stony finished their innings on 113
for 5.
The game was played in excellent spirit by both sides.
