Stewkley vs Buckingham Town 2nd XI
Bob Hutt writes:
Buckingham Town 2nds suffered a heavy defeat by 82 runs away at
Stewkley in their sunday friendly. Skipper Hutt inserted Stewkley
on a damp difficult pitch to bat on.
They scored a useful 157 all out thanks mainly to a solid knock
from Sam Smith 81 not out. Luke Stafford, Richard Hallows and
Chris Coates each had a brace of wickets and Frank Johnson one.
Stuart Helps cleaned up the tail with 3-2 which included a catch
off his bowling by his son Jordan.
Keeper Ryan Freswater had another day good behind the stumps.
Town's reply was a disaster being skittled for only 75 as the
Stewkley bowlers took full advantage of the conditions.
Skipper Hutt(19) was the only Town player to make double figures.
