MK City U15 vs Buckingham Town U15

Comfortable Win For Buckingham U15s
A good all round team performance saw Buckingham Town U15s
complete a comfortable win over Milton Keynes City. An excellent
opening partnership of 62 in just 8 overs was just the start
required before the loss of Harry Martin for a classy 23. Ben
Cater and James Clark weighed in with some power hitting but it
was Josh Whitehead who top scored with a typically pugnacious 40,
including a massie six over mid wicket. An England-like middle
order collapse was averted by a well constructed and patient fifth
wicket partnership of 41 between Clark and Alex O'Dell as Town's
innings closed on 135-4.
The MK City reply was dominated by opener Kevin Wijensinghe whose
clean striking at one stage promised to win the game almost single
handed. He was eventually dismissed by Dan Major with the first
ball of the final over for an outstanding 68.
All the Buckingham bowlers performed well but the most telling
performance belonged to Dan Major who kept a cool head to finish
with 2-20 bowling at the death. The final margin of victory was
32 runs as MK City closed on 103-4 from their 20 overs.
