Buckingham Town Cricket Club - May 24th 2009

Cublington asked to bat by skipper Hutt scored 221-6 from their 40 overs with kiwi opener Shears 139 not out.

Buckingham stuck to their task all afternoon and fielded keenly and bowled well.

Cublington were 171-0 before Robbie Laird took five wickets to make things look respectable.

13 year old Ryan Freshwater made his debut for Town behind the stumps and did very well.

Spinner Harry Martin bowled superbly with only 22 runs coming from his eight overs being well supported by Robbie Laird, Callum Cater,Colin Piggott and Luke Stafford.

In Reply Buckingham made a steady start through Matt Foles(14), Kevin D'Silva(14) and Alex Odell(9) but as they crashed to 63-6 the match took a dramatic turn.

Colin Piggott came into bat and scored a superb 72 and along with Harry Martin(19) the score went to 164-7. Piggott's super innings put Town back in the game and skipper Hutt(19) scored quickly and Town suddenly were in a winning position but finally failed by 18 runs with six overs left.
