Buckingham Town 2nd XI vs Blackthorn
Bob Hutt writes:
Buckingham Town sunday 2nds lost to a strong Blackthorn side by 25
runs in their friendly match.
Blackthorn made a good start and Steven Lewis(56) who plays for
Buckingham on saturdays was in fine form and opener D. Booker(45)
looked good before Robin Pritchard bowled him. As the run chase
continued Blackthorn lost wickets quickly and closed on 215-9 from
their 40 overs.
Kevin D'Silva for Buckingham took a hat-trick which is a rare feat
in any type of cricket as he finished with 4-28. A smart catch by
skipper Callum Cater gave Kevin his hat-trick.
Chris Wigan took 3-40 in support.
Buckingham made a solid start through Mike Taylor(40) and Chris
Wigan (21) and Josh Whitehead(20) and skipper Callum Cater(32)
were also in good nick with the bat but Buckingham steadily lost
wickets against a good Blackthorn bowling attack to close on
190-9. Young Ryan Freshwater batted well for his 11 runs.
