Buckingham Town vs Bletchley Town

Andrew Holland writes:

Poor batting costs Town

Bletchley won the toss and chose to bat in hot conditions. Graham Simpson and Ed Packard made a solid start with a 50 partnership. Jason Ell eventually made the break through, removing Packard for 28. There was no further success for the opening bowlers, but the introduction of Vish Valambhia brought the 2nd wicket in his first over. Dan Harris was a surprise decision to bring into the attack, but in his 2nd over he picked up 2 wickets in 4 balls before Valambhia removed Simpson for 44 to leave the visitors on 106-5. Skipper James Clark and James Ward started to recover the innings, adding 46 from just 50 balls. Harris found the break through before he and Valambhia took 2 wickets a piece to finish the innings on 169. Harris claimed 5 for 47.

Buckingham's reply had a poor start as Rob Large fell in the first over for a duck. Leigh Tomlinson and Jonny Cater played well as they took the score past 50. Cater was stumped for 23 and the new batsman Pearson caught behind for 11. Dan Harris joined Tomlinson, and the pair added 32 before both fell in a collapse of 6 wickets for 22 runs. The final pair added 14 before Buckingham were finally all out for 132, crashing to a 37 run defeat. Tom Joraslafsky claimed 6 for 42.

Chearsley vs Buckingham Town 2nd XI

Bob Hutt writes:
Buckingham Town 2nds lost their League match away at Chearsley 1sts by 92 runs. Chearsley batting first scored a useful 254-7 on a quick scoring pitch. Acting skipper Dom Pritchard 3-62 and Harry Martin 2-83 bowled well with tidy spells from Matt Le Grice and Matt Dipple. Town under the circumstances bowled and fielded quite well as several players were not available.

Buckingham struggled after Taylor(33) was brillantly caught and only Dom Pritchard(41) who batted very well looked in good form. Harry Martin chipped in with 22 and Russell Thompson,Matt Dipple and Nev Pritchard reached double figures but Town needed a big score from someone.
