Horspath vs Buckingham Town
Andrew Holland writes:
Town lose to top of the table Horspath
Buckingham lost the toss at Horspath and were put into bat in
difficult conditions. The innings was off to a terrible start when
Rob Large was run out in the 3rd over for 2. Jonny Cater struck a
couple of boundaries before a ball that kept low had him
lbw. Cadman was also lbw for 5, and the score was 33-3. Leigh
Tomlinson was joined by Dan Harris and the pair built a
partnership. They added 46 before Tomlinson was stumped for 33. 3
more wickets fell quickly so that Harris was caught behind for 39
at 100-7. With 23 overs still to bat James Gear and Jason Ell set
about using up the overs. In 21 overs they added 49 before cutting
lose in the last 2 overs, adding 25 to finish on 174-8. Gear made
46, Ell 19 not out with Vish Valambhia added 11 from 5 balls at
the end.
The Horspath reply began well Todd and Murray scored at 4 an over
comfortably. However, in the 10th over Josh Nix had Murray caught
behind before Vish Valambhia removed Todd and it was 35-2. Robbie
Eason and Adam Krol came together and batted well to push Horspath
towards victory. They added 96 at a decent rate with Krol reaching
50 before being adjudged lbw off Dan Harris. In tandem Harris and
Ben Stafford slowed the run rate to a crawl, but although overs
were disappearing the 7:30 cut off was never an issue as the Eason
brothers saw the hosts home by 7 wickets.

Buckingham Town 2nd XI vs L.Buzzard 2nd XI
Bob Hutt writes:
Buckingham Town 2nds had a comfortable 6 wicket league win
over Leighton Buzzard 2nds at Bourton Road. The visitors
put into bat struggled throughout and were bowled out for a
meagre 146. Skipper Dom Pritchard was in fine form with
the ball taking 5-25 from 13 overs and spinner Harry Martin
did well with 3-16. Buckingham's top order batsmen were
in good form. Openers Mike Taylor(25) and Ade Johnson(24)
gave them a good start and Town strolled home thanks to
Callum Cater 39 not out and Steve Lewis 31 not out.

Abingdon Vale 3rd XI vs Buckingham Town 3rd XI
Bob Hutt writes:
Buckingham Town 3rds had a 11 run league win away to
Abingdon Vale 3rds under acting skipper young Frank
Johnson. Buckingham batting first scored a modest
130 all out. Early batsmen Nigel Norman(25) and Mark
James(28) scored important runs and Chris Coates(28) did
likewise. Young Jack Wilkins(11) was the only other
bat to reach double figures.
Vale lost wickets steadily from the start but a late
rally by J. White 37 not out and Lanham(24) just failed as
Town won narrowly. Matt Le Grice was in superb form
with the ball taking 5-33 from 12 overs and Steve Brunning
3-25 also bowled well.
