In reply Town made a steady start through Josh Whitehead(12) and Kevin D'Silva in good form with 26. Middle order batsman Adrian Johnson(21) who substituted for his son Frank who was injured, looked good before being trapped lbw.

Young Jack Wilkins again batted very well for 25 not out and Stuart Helps hit a sparkling 46 not out rapidly as Town closed on a respectable 173-6.
