Chase electing to bat first scored a massive 309-4 from their 40 overs thanks mainly to South African Davison(186) and R. Hiles 65 not out. For Town Dan Harris took 3-28 from his six overs and a fine catch by Tomlinson removed Davison. In reply Town saw Dan Harris smartly caught and Jonny Cater(19) run out and from then on they struggled. James Tomlinson(33) and Bob Hutt(21) improved matters and tailenders Chris Harris 39 not out and Frank Johnson(19) both batted well as Town closed on 189 all out.
