Emberton vs Buckingham Town 2nd XI
Bob Hutt writes:
A young Buckingham Town 2nds side lost by 99 runs
in their sunday friendly against a strong Emberton
team.
Emberton scored 218-10 from their 40 overs. Town
made a good start with their opponents at 69-5 but
Matt Goss(48) and M. Smart(77) turned things around.
Town's young bowlers did well with Ben Cater taking
4-46. In their opening spells Frank Johnson and Jack
Wilkins bowled well taking a wicket apiece and James
Clark took four catches behind the stumps.
Mark James and Ryan Freshwater took 2 wickets each.
Town's reply started badly losing four quick wickets
but Harry Scarr(33) and Alex O'Dell(20) batted with
promise along with Ben Cater(19) as Town closed on
119-10.
