Buckingham Town vs Shipton
Bob Hutt writes:
Buckingham Town 1sts won their second successive league match with
a fine all round team effort against Shipton at Bourton Road.
Shipton elected to bat and struggled generally apart from Andy
Hemming who survived a couple of chances and went on to top score
with 90.
Town's opening bowlers skipper Jason Ell and Josh Nix kept it
tight early on and then long spells from young Vishal Valambhia
4-87(18 overs) and James Gear 3-67(19 overs) kept the Shipton
batsmen to a modest scoring rate as they reached 221-9 in 53
overs.
After losing promoted opener Judd early on Buckingham made
a steady reply with the top order all scoring runs.
Constistent opener Leigh Tomlinson scored 32. The 3rd wicket
partnership between Ash Pearson(54) and Jonny Cater(42) put
Town back on track before Pearson was run out and dropped
down the order Robert Large 37 not out and Dan Harris(27)
saw Town comfortably reached their target for the loss of
6 wickets and now move up to 4th in the league.
Ben Stafford scored a patient 14 to make sure Town won.
