Great Tew vs Buckingham Town
Andrew Holland writes:
Town win 3rd game on the trot
For the first time this season Jason Ell won the toss for
Buckingham and inserted Great and Little Tew into bat under heavy
cloud. Josh Nix gave town the perfect start as he picked up 2
wickets in his 2nd over. Ell followed that up with a wicket of his
own and the hosts were 6-3 after 7 overs. After a slight recovery
Vish Valambhia was brought into the attack and took 2 wickets in
his opening over with the score on 35. Shurma and Smith tried to
rebuild the innings, adding a brisk 49 before Smith fell to James
Gear for 32. Shurma continued to fight on and battled to 43 before
he was caught in the gulley. White and Woods struck some
boundaries before Nix was brought back and he picked up 2 more
wickets. Gear finished the innings off in the final over as he had
Bryan caught on the boundary to finish the innings on 151.
Buckingham's reply got off to a shaky start as Leigh Tomlinson and
Jonny Cater both fell in the first 9 overs. Ashley Pearson,
promoted to open the batting, had to work hard against the opening
bowlers, but managed to counter with some boundaries including a
hooked 6. He was supported in a partnership of 42 by Graham Judd
before he was lbw to Taylor for 38. Soon after Taylor also picked
up Judd and at 83-4 there were some nerves. Dan Harris looked in
good nick and took the attack the bowlers. Plenty of boundaries
were scored as the target was reduced and Harris reached his 50
from 45 balls. 3 overs later the game was over as, despite losing
Stafford to a skied catch, Harris hit the winning runs to finish
on 72 from 52 balls.

Buckingham Town 2nd XI vs Kimble
Bob Hutt writes:
Buckingham Town 2nds had a sparkling win over Kimble winning by 34
runs. Town batted first and openers Mike Taylor(71) and Ryan
Spragg(42) both in good form of late gave them a good start.
Steve Lewis carried with 49 not out receiving excellent support
from Russell Thompson(38) as Town made a useful 240-5.
Kimble despite losing a couple of cheap wickets got into a good
position thanks mainly to Ben Mooney(126) reaching 164-3 but then
they suffered a middle order collapse to be bowled out for 206.
Matt Le Grice bowled very well with 5-34 from 14 overs and acting
skipper Dom Pritchard with 4-60 from 17 overs saw Town home to a
good win. Alex O'Dell took a couple of nice catches behind the
stumps and Matt Dipple too a good outfield catch near the end to
grab the vital wicket of Mooney. A good all round team
performance from Buckingham 2nds.

Dinton 3rd XI vs Buckingham Town 3rd XI
Bob Hutt writes:
Buckingham Town 3rds lost to top of the table Dinton 3rds by 5
wickets in a disappointing match.
Buckingham batting first scored only 110 all out. Ade Johnson(24)
was dismissed by a very poor lbw decision which didn't help Town
as he has been in fine form lately. A middle order collapse set
in but James Clark(26) batted well and Steve Brunning(12) and Jake
Mallett 13 not out were the only other players to reach double
figures.
Dinton reached their target losing five wickets but as both
umpires came from Dinton(Town didn't have one) confident lbw
appeals from Town were all turned down. Dinton's early batsmen
survived in a match on a better day Town could have won
easily. Stuart Helps 1-41 from 18 overs and Frank Johnson 2-17
from 9.5 overs bowled well and young Stuart Lane impressed with
2-13.
